Over 64% of targeted loans for SMEs fall under government programs along with compensation programs reimbursed by local authorities. The remaining loans for small and medium-sized businesses (over 35%) are issued through partnership programs implemented by banks in cooperation with manufacturers and suppliers of various business tools.
This was stated by Oksana Shulha, Director of the Small and Medium Business Department at GLOBUS BANK.
She noted that almost all targeted loans issued under purely banking programs are partnerships, allowing borrowers to obtain loans at rates 20-30% below the market average. According to the banker, the overall indicators of issued targeted loans for small and medium-sized businesses may significantly increase thanks to the Banks' Memorandum on the Development of Lending and the significant expansion of the "5-7-9" preferential loan program for HOAs and Housing Cooperatives for the purchase of equipment for the generation and storage of electricity from alternative sources (solar and wind) at an annual rate of 7%.
"In the second half of the year, the number of loans issued for the needs of small and medium-sized businesses will noticeably increase: compared to the first half of the year, the number of such loans may increase on average by 25-30%. And compared to 2023, the volume of issued loans will increase by more than 50%," summarized Oksana Shulha.
