An online game has been launched in Ukraine on the initiative of the EMA Association and with the support of the National Bank of Ukraine. This game raises citizens' awareness about the rules of using payment instruments and services.

The EMA Association has gathered expertise in the field of combating payment fraud, developed over 20 years in collaboration with financial institutions and law enforcement agencies. This expertise has been packaged into an easy and fun format of an educational online game that introduces users of banking and financial services to typical techniques and manipulations used by cybercriminals and teaches how to resist them. The online game "Defeat the Fraudster" is a simulation game where players find themselves in simulated situations of various types of payment fraud, receiving information about the consequences of their decisions and advice on detecting fraud and effective protective measures in each situation.
All thematic games are as close to reality as possible and are relevant to the present time. Understanding that during the COVID-19 pandemic, fraudsters continue to use basic payment fraud schemes, only adapting them to current conditions, EMA Association experts took this into account when developing scenarios. They added new "legends" and circumstances related to the impact of COVID-19 on Ukrainians to some scenarios. Additionally, exclusive games were developed for special partners of the online game "Defeat the Fraudster": "Sell-Out" (fraud with the "OLX Delivery" service and prepayment) for OLX, and "Bye-Bye Goodbykin" (phone fraud, calls on behalf of NBU employees) for the NBU. Given that after the launch of the online game "Defeat the Fraudster," EMA Association received requests from players and market participants to add new thematic games, we continue to work on developing new games for the online game "Defeat the Fraudster." Recently, a new thematic game was added, in which you need to defeat a virtual fraudster named "Instarogamius."
